Our Story

Why we started Hoof It

Large-animal vets are in short supply, and it’s not hard to see why: long hours, hard miles, and a burnout rate that pushes good people out of the field within a few years. The folks who depend on them are left struggling to find anyone who’ll answer the call.

We’re building something different, a practice that takes care of its people so they can take care of your animals. Better for the people. Better for the animals. Built to prove it.

The Team

Meet the people

The people behind Hoof It Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Megan Heffron, DVM, veterinarian and co-founder of Hoof It Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Megan Heffron, DVM

VETERINARIAN & CO-FOUNDER

Dr. Megan Heffron graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2023 and spent her early career at a local large-animal practice before leaving to build something better. Her passion lies in equine reproduction and, just as much, in the people behind the animals. She loves getting out into the community, spending real time with clients, and being the kind of vet who’s there when you need one.

Nathan Brandon, co-founder of Hoof It Veterinary Clinic

Nathan Brandon

Co-Founder

Nathan has been a self-employed entrepreneur for more than 25 years, building and leading several businesses before finding his way into large-animal medicine. After buying a cattle farm, he fell in love with the work and the industry, and eventually sold his previous company, Pure Green, to pursue it fully. He partnered with Dr. Megan to launch Hoof It and build a practice, and a team, that does right by its people.
